Or to abandon the thought that doctors are good to see. I get that the journey can be frustrating, and why it's easy to want a mystical solution. My little circle calls it a UPG, unverifiable personal gnosis. It's a belief that can't easily be tested. It also means its hard to prove that you're wrong. It makes it really easy to come up with a special reason as an answer to your problem that nobody can challenge with the normal diagnostics. Unfortunately, nobody ever wants to acknowledge the risk for disassociation or disease progression. It's all about the immediate feel good. It's heartbreaking really. You are seen, you are appreciated, and you're welcome here.]]> In reply to Elizabeth Stephens-Gibson.

You’re quite welcome!

I’ve never had someone seriously tell me I was possessed though. I have had to help a few people who have been told such things. I’ll let you guess what percentage of them actually involved the person being possessed. 😉

I’ve got a whole host of mental and physical illnesses, including MS and Bipolar 1. Not even close to an exhaustive list. But I, too, have been told that I’m doing it to myself, need to get rid of a demon (by a pagan, no less), should turn my life over to christ, etc, etc, etc. It was heartening to hear another practitioner of mystical woodgie advocate for doctors. Thankyou.
