Two repurposed makeup compacts. The one on the left is a french blush that is square and silver. The top mirror has been covered with midnight blue and raised silver stars with a miniature painting of a luna moth. The bottom protective door of the compact has a cloudy night sky with a gold star and two clippings with words. The top clipping reads “When it is darkest” and the bottom reads “men see the stars. The compact on the right is smaller and round. The lid is decorated in green and pale floral background with a yellow and green rhinestone and silver fish charm. There’s 2 strips of paper that read “All we are is light made whole”. On the bottom is a center circle with a tiny painting of a red haired mermaid with a blue tail. Along the top of her is a cluster of baby whelk shells, below is a small chip of whelk. There’s a circle of silver glitter around her. Both pieces were made by the late E.M. Corsa of North Carolina.
